Is there any way to respec my companion? (Mods, console commands, hidden game feature?)

I finally found a companion with decent scouting but they chose all of the perks that I’m not a huge fan of, and was wondering if there was anyway that I could respec him and to make him more useful? I found a couple of mods on nexus but they all look abandoned.
