I'm playing with some mods that heavily restrict recruitment, so my army is almost entirely bandits and mercenaries. On land, Monchug's army would destroy mine, but this isn't a land battle and he gifted me several amazing prizes. Everything I'm googling is just coming up with results like "how to recruit troops", "how to make an army" ect.
But I'm running across the planet with an army of like 7 lords and I can only recruit my own personal troops and the lords won't recruit any.
I remedied this problem in another playthrough by having family and my own lords that I recruited so I could max out my personal arny, then give my generals the troops and keep going. But I can't talk to these guys like I could my own lords and family. Also my family consists of my brother, infant sister and brother, wife who's a crucial governer atm and 2 babies. So I can't really use them the way I want to.
Lastly, my own companions are all out running caravans or governing other fiefs. Whew, done with the info dump.
