Mounted combat (cavalry) in arena is absurd. It ends up in a giant pile of cavalry that just trade spear thrusts and shields, and can last for a near-infinite amount of time
If you've ever 1-v-1ed in the arena while mounted with a spear against another with the same set up, instead of a traditional "joust at full speed" it turns into the enemy just trying to get on top of you. You can't outrun them, they just continue following you and making the same turns you make, staying inches away from your horse's ass. It is absolutely maddening. If it's a 4-team cavalry match, it just turns into a giant mob on top of each other spearing the guy in the middle until he dies. It's not fun, it's not skillful, and it completely removes the "couch lance" function in arena matches.
Please, please fix this. Put a linear barrier up down the middle of the arena map like in medieval times, make it so the AI regroups and charges at you, do both, do something. Even adding javelins so you don't just spear-block-spear-block would be an improvement. Trading spear blocks inches away from your opponent for 20 minutes straight is not fun, looks janky and buggy as shit, and is not how cavalry arena matches are supposed to be fought, especially amongst nobles and "knights".
Imagine being able to actually charge your opponent with a couched spear at full speed. You either miss or one of you dies in one hit, the way jousting is supposed to be.
Every time I'm in an arena match when I get assigned cavalry vs cavalry I cringe. Sometimes I even just get off the horse and wack at the opponent's horse until he is dismounted and it becomes a melee fight.
TL;DR: Please improve the AI of cavalry in arena so it's not just a game of chase (1v1) or a pile of people stabbing whoever is currently already in combat (4 teams of 1 cav each).
Even if there is a mod for this I would happily download it. It makes me instantly regret joining any cavalry arena matches.
Edit: Obviously this is for Bannerlord. Forgot to flair it and apparently I can't retroactively apply a flair.
