| I understand why the diplomacy mod is so popular, now. It’s literally constant warfare. I understand it’s a game about war but if I could have just like, maybe an ingame month at peace that would be appreciated. If you hadn’t seen the first post, i have it here https://www.reddit.com/r/Bannerlord/s/8XRGKkbXrJ The aforementioned war in my post above was over literally minutes after i logged on for the day after i made the post, ironically enough. Then of course we had to go back to war with the Northern Empire.. So. Right after a war with the Northern Empire that left them permanently crippled with just 1 city and 1 Castle left, we were in a war against the Sturgians. However, they were getting sandwiched by the Battanians as well the Nords, and therefore were pretty much unable to fight us. My friendly AI knows this, and promptly declared a war against the Western Empire, which drags the Aserai into the war, too. I forget about the alliance between the Aserai and Empire, and it doesn’t don on me until after a force of 3,000 hit Razih that we were in another double front war. Of course, all of my friendly AI is fighting the Empire and has no interest whatsoever in the south so i am forced into the desert.. again.. I’m too late to save Razih, and it falls back into Aserai hands. But I’m just in time to see the army continuing its march towards Sahel castle, which I of course rush forward and barricade, taking up a force of roughly 1,000 in size against a force of 2,200. What followed was the most BORING fucking siege of my life. It lasted, unironically, somewhere between 30-60 minutes because for once in my life my fire catapults were locked the fuck in, hitting both of their siege towers everytime, they only built balista’s to counter which would always be destroyed immediately so i never had to worry about rebuilding my defenses, and in most cases the Aserai would route before they even got to the walls, even if i just sat and watched the entire time. Each round lasted about 2-3 minutes before they routed, but then i wasn’t able to sally out because they’d still outnumber me 2:1, and then it would take another 30 seconds just to get back into the game because i’d have to wait for them to rebuild their battering ram and siege towers. After, maybe, idk, 10-20 rounds of just this over and over, the amount of their dead and wounded soldiers got low enough that we outnumbered them in the castle but in the field we were still outnumbered because the milita wouldn’t sally out with us. So, getting bored of this I instead have all of my soldiers charge out the front gate, prompty get myself knocked unconcious, of which then, for some reason the Aserai decide to commit fully to the siege, getting all but 200 of their men killed before retreating with minimal losses on my side. So, i guess, my conscious presence on the field was simply enough to force a route? Even if i was literally standing doing nothing but watch for half of fights. Of course, after this I send my soldiers to sally out of which, out of all 21 Aserai lords that came to this fight, a grand total of 3 got captured. Makes sense. Good morale, renown, and influence farm however. I mean i’m at 100+ morale right now, and I gained unironically 700 influence from the entire ordeal, idk how much renown i grinded, doesn’t matter. One thing to note, I wish if i forced a route I could have my soldiers go out and secure the unconscious bodies of the enemy; this battle would’ve been over so much quicker if i could imprison the unconscious because i’d be getting 300 kills before they even reached the walls but like 2/3 of them would be unconcious, and they’d just regen that all before the next attack. I’m so tired of the AI mismanagement of diplomacy, just thinking about this single siege is so disheartening to me, idek why.. [link] [comments] |
So I got the go-ahead to write a guide for the Mods to post and pin on top of the sub and while my 3000+ hours of Bannerlord and wide experience with speedrunning this quest covers a lot, I am sure that I might have missed some neat tips and tricks. Please also tell if there if something that needs closer clarification with more text or an image.
