The Bear strikes back - Calradic Campaign #23

The tension of a moment was unbearable.

A solemn King sat upon his throne. Maps, missives, parchment and ink were scattered about tables surrounding the court. Great Lords of ancient families, those who rode with Grunwalder himself, stood with baited breath. Clergy of the vague god whispered silent prayers. The King had raised his hand moments before, ushering a terrible silence over the great hall of Veluca.

Not long before, the hall was buzzing with argument. Wonder, excitement and fear poured over the crowd; gossip tore through them like a northern Gale.

The Rock of Rivacheg had fallen

The Nordic King has returned

A King, elected by his people in the true and proper ways of the Rhodoks, had returned in the wake of the death of the usurper. Now is our time, the shout was heard, and all the Rhodok youth were on fire. We too will do what has never been done before!

More pressing was the Sarranid blockade of Ibdeles Castle, long standing in an enclave south of the conquered Jelkala. The castle was quickly running short on supplies and would not last the winter without relief.

The King rose, slowly, and gazed, hard faced and stoic, into the crowd.

God wills it!

The hall erupted in cheers, followed by the chants. There would be war - The Rhodoks would reclaim what was theirs, or die in the attempt.

In Meta Terms

Welcome to the 23rd Calradic Campaign! This event will see the Rhodoks launch their next crusade, seeking to relieve Ibdeles Castle and retake Jelkala, their conquered former capital. Sultan Hakim will lead the Sarranids in cementing his power over the bellicose Rhodoks in perpetuity - he hopes.

If the Rhodoks lose, they will lose the beleaguered Ibdeles Castle and the Garden city of Veluca, the garrison of which has been deployed to assist in desperation.

If the Sarranids lose, they will be driven from the Rhodok lands entirely, losing Jelkala and Jamiche Castle.

This event will be running the standard game modes - a field battle followed by a siege battle.

The field battle will be on battle mode, and it will be a best of 5 match - the winner gets to be the attacker on the siege map.

The siege map will be a best of 3 match - if the defenders win, the event is considered a stalemate and no territory changes hands. If the attackers win, they claim their prospective territories.

To join the event, just join the server! There are no sign-ups required, and while it is recommended to join voice chat for bants and vague tactics, it isn't required.

Before the event begins there will be a pre-event death match - feel free to join and warm up as well as ask any outstanding questions.

After that there will be the ceremonial duel in our custom dueling arena, between the respective faction leaders. This doesn't decide anything but it is tradition. After that is concluded, we move onto the field battle. We will likely reset the map after everyone had loaded in, and will announce when the event is "live" - that is to say, will count.

Becoming Involved in the Calradic Campaign

The Calradic Campaign team is always looking for new additions, whether it be scene makers, technical wizards, writers, or anything else of use.

Particularly, we are always looking for mapping talent. Don't be constrained by our regular format either, get creative - a new deathmatch map so we dont have to use arena for 200 people, a new dueling map, a really innovative use of an underused game mode, anything!

If you'd like to contribute your area of expertise, be sure to join our Discord to connect with the members of our team. Many of us earned our positions by bringing something new to the Campaign. We hope you'll join us in continuing one of the top community events in Warband!

Donating to the Calradic Campaign

The Calradic Campaign server is our own, and we run it ourselves on a donation basis as we have for over a year. We now have a Patreon that you can put in a monthy or one time amount to contribute. There are multiple reward tiers with more coming, and with a larger pool of money we can expand our community events (like Mod Night!) as well as preparing for the expected high server costs of Bannerlord. Or an EU server.
