STUCK AT BEGINING OF WARSAILS

I escorted the merchants and fought off two ships in a sea battle . I'm on the Scourge of the Seas quest. It tells me to talk to Gunnar via a golden exclamation point. I go to talk to him and he says thst he is waiting on new." What do I do now? It seems as though there are no obvious prompts and the quest still exists. I need help specifically with advancing this quest...I can't believe I am stuck this early in the game. If anyone has any advice, I'm really desperate. Siege towers should be better

The whole point of siege towers is being able to put more men on the walls faster. However, it seems like the AI path finding still can’t figure out how to use all three ladders at the same time.

Ideally, all three ladders should be full so that it’s not just a piddle of men coming through, but a flood. Also, the gate shouldn’t be lowered until more men are up there to charge through.

Hopefully, this is fixed so towers are more useful
