Pike Bracing?

I'm not sure if there has been anything from the dev end, but does anyone know if the devs plan on adding pike Bracing to Single player? Pikeman feel fairly useless since they usually will take their swords out and be a infantryman with no shield. And with no way to tell them to use their pike I feel there's no reason to really have them at this point. Unlike the Menvalion who prove useful against both cavalry and infantry.
