STUCK AT BEGINING OF WARSAILS

I escorted the merchants and fought off two ships in a sea battle . I'm on the Scourge of the Seas quest. It tells me to talk to Gunnar via a golden exclamation point. I go to talk to him and he says thst he is waiting on new." What do I do now? It seems as though there are no obvious prompts and the quest still exists. I need help specifically with advancing this quest...I can't believe I am stuck this early in the game. If anyone has any advice, I'm really desperate. Failed dragon banner quest bug?

So I've just failed the main storyline because I ran out of time trying to get to clan level 4 in 10 years, but it has only been like 700 days. Is this an intended feature or a bug? Is there anyway I can get around this aside from loading an older save and grinding?

If this isn't a bug it is a real dumb feature having such an important quest on a timer.

Back when Bannerlord was announced, I vaguely remember that, in the announcement thread, people were discussing the choice of the title "Bannerlord." Does anyone else remember that?
