Any way to assign only certain troop types to a formation?

Hi new player here, question in the title. Let's say I only want my Swordsmen in Formation 1, is there a way to do this with any granularity? I know there's the small icons which allow you to set "preferred types", but is there any way to do it with a bit of precision? Or a mod which allows this? Thanks in advance. What happens to fiefs when you destroy a kingdom by executing all members?

Have my own kingdom and i've been going through and executing each member of a kingdom to fully destroy them.

Now i've destroyed 3 kingdoms so far. The first one, all the fiefs went to another faction, the second one, all the fiefs went to me, and the third one, all the fiefs went to another faction again.

Just wondering if anyone knows how this works!?
