Mods with only one Kingdom

I know the whole point of MnB is the chaos and politics of different kingdoms, BUT i was wondering if there are any mods with only one major kingdom or just 2 for a rebellion type playthrough. Is there a reason to give vassal towns?

To get more vassals I am making my companions into vassals. Mostly I am giving them castles, but I've given a few towns in hope that they can raise more troops. Is that the case, or should I keep all the towns?
Does giving a vassal multiple fiefs help me at all, or should I have more vassals with 1-2 fief each?
