Siege defense AI 0 IQ!?!

Why the hell is it that when I am defending my towns/ castles when I assign my men to wall A, B, or C as soon as the battle begins they want to go butt fuck the gate?! No matter what I do the troops will not defend the ladder/tower entry points. Yet, when I am attacking towns the defenders defend the towers/ ladders as if my troops are storming the walls with the soul purpose to skull fuck their mothers?! I've tried everything. I've deligated command, I've mashed F1 (point to desired location) F1, I've selected the correct troops and told them to follow me, I've even auto fought. NOTHING! Statistically speaking and strategically speaking 1 defender is worth about 5 attackers. Arguable 1:10 if the troop is totally leveled up. Alas I'm getting waffle stomped 3:1 because my dumb ass troops want to circle jerk at the main gate EVEN WHEN THERES NO RAM!!!! Please help me if you have fixes I'm about to merchant sim for the rest of my days.

Back when Bannerlord was announced, I vaguely remember that, in the announcement thread, people were discussing the choice of the title "Bannerlord." Does anyone else remember that? It was a useless topic to discuss, but I kept coming back because I was so hyped about the game and was hoping for more information about it.
