I'm playing with some mods that heavily restrict recruitment, so my army is almost entirely bandits and mercenaries. On land, Monchug's army would destroy mine, but this isn't a land battle and he gifted me several amazing prizes. I joined the Northern Empire as a mercenary. Fought a lot of battles on their behalf and did some quests for a couple of clan leaders. Married Lucon's daughter. and had 6 kids. Lucon died at some point and his son Ascyron was put in charge. At this point I decided screw it, I'll join them as a vassal. Northern Empire was at war with Battania at the moment and after we took Seonon I was granted ownership.
I was a vassal for maybe 2 days and I got a town with 4 villages. An unexpected but nice suprise! It took Raganvad years before he gave me a castle..
But then, within a month, we declared war on every faction except Sturgia. I had to fend off wave after wave of Battanian and Vlandian trash while the Northern Empire derped around with its armies and lost town after town. Almost all the villages have been raided. I've seen Caladog use his army of 600 men to raid my villages. Its like Rome is burning again and Ascyron is proposing hunting grounds policies and what not. It almost feels like the Caligula experience but less depraved.
