This might be one of my most interesting playthroughs by far, factions teaming up without alliance. Can someone explain this?

So I started ANOTHER Battania playthrough lol & I finally branch off to go independent with pravend as my capital. I already had ocs hall & caleus castle so I take drapend castle(from vlandia) to secure my border & proceed to verscand castle which belonged to west empire. (Btw I was at war with West E, Battania & Vlandia) so as I'm besieging, a bunch of Battanian parties are trying to run past like they're being called to an army but are getting stuck & won't pass because my army so enough of them get stuck to where they attack me I defeat them so when I attack the case it's empire & battanian troops waiting for me.... Battanians in green with green shields & battanian clan banners with purple empire troops with empire banners I WAS SO DAMN JEALOUSSS but confused because I dont know what happened I looked at diplomacy & they weren't allianced & I checked clans & no battanian mercenaries working for the west. New to Bannerlords

I haven’t had much time to sink into this game but I was wondering if I can get any tips as a new player. I’m on PC and I only have a few hours in the game but majority of my time is spent being a POW. Idk what I’m doing wrong or what I’m doing right(if anything). I get stomped by bandits half the time and the other half is when I finally get a foothold I get attacked by another faction(because I’m a mercenary) and then it’s starting from square 1 again. I can only put about 1-2 hours in each time I sit down and play but it gets demoralizing when I’m a prisoner most of that time. I also started in sandbox but I’d be willing to make a new character if it meant that I could have an easier time starting out. Any tips are appreciated!
