I'm playing with some mods that heavily restrict recruitment, so my army is almost entirely bandits and mercenaries. On land, Monchug's army would destroy mine, but this isn't a land battle and he gifted me several amazing prizes. I've read in multiple places that when you are at war with a faction and convince a clan in that faction to join your kingdom then you receive the fiefs they hold. But I've tried it twice now with the same results so I'm trying to figure out if they patched that or if this was all just bullshit
