So I'm playing without any mods right now, I tried diplomacy but it kinda fucked up my progress so I switched back and I want to finish this playthrough rather than start a new one.
I have my own faction and by now I rule 50% of caldaria, trying to push for the finish. But right now the most time consuming task is to give fiefs to my vassals. In order to not piss everyone off I ride around and ask every single vassal about their opinion on who should get fief xyz. This takes up a lot of time, especially when I'm at war. Gathering vassals as marshal helps, but the most distant vassals usually don't show up just like with feasts.
Is there a better way to distribute the fiefs without having to ride around all the freaking time? I would also welcome any mod that can be configured to a point where it doesn't change up the vanilla gameplay too much.

Very late reply, but useful one:
ReplyDeleteWalled fiefs, towns and castles should be given to good natured and upstanding Lords.
Sometimes martial or cunning lords, but I personally just stick with the above, as the latter gets pissed off when you dont give them 3 fiefs soon enough (I think one must be a walled one, as they still get pissed off to me when they have 3 villages).
The worst, debauched and pitiless or whatever in other mods, should be last in the line, give them a village but never a walled fief.
Ofcourse, when playing as conqueror its beneficial when you have a lot of lords, so you can distribute fiefs quickly, on the other hand when you have few lords, you either overfief them or have to let the castle or town be recaptured.
Altough when you play defensively its way more beneficial to have few lords.
In Native the Kings will run arround with their Treason-hammer and treason every lord as each treason reduces relationships with all their respective vassals.
So they easily rack up to 5 treasons a month, if not more.
Now, you gave a bad vassal a fief, and he is about to become a traitor:
I'd recommend to let him betray you, dont charge treason on him as conqueror, just reconquer and distribute the lands again.
Or
When playing defensively you can feast enough to recoup the lost relationship points.
It is quite hard to determine their personality, but good natured and upstanding are friendly to you when you have high honour. Once you have enough honour to make upstanding and good natured lords instantly devoted to you, capture the bad personality lords to decrease relationship with them.
I personally release the above, martials and cunning lords.
The rest go to my dungeons, ofcourse when I have a walled fief only, I release everyone as mercenary.
Hope it helps.
