Mods with only one Kingdom

I know the whole point of MnB is the chaos and politics of different kingdoms, BUT i was wondering if there are any mods with only one major kingdom or just 2 for a rebellion type playthrough. How to maintain control over a large kingdom?

I recruited all the lords who didn't have fiefs (cheaper) hoping they would patrol and help me cover more land. But then as I kept taking castles and cities, they got assigned to these new lords. Then a couple of them went and defected anyway (with the castles I gave them).

Is there a way to prevent lords defecting to other kingdoms? I'm currently with the Sturgians and at war constantly with Battania and Vlandia.
