Can someone help me talk to my companions?

I've researched how to give my companions roles, and supposedly the clan screen to do so is bugged. The work around is to talk to them directly, and I should be able to do so by going to the party screen and clicking their name, however, as the image shows having clicked their name there is no option to talk.

Am I missing something obvious?
