i can't sue for peace while actively dying

im in 2 front war, all my vassals are captured, i have one castle left after vlandia cane with the 2000 men army and took my city , and i cant make peace even i i want to pay tribute. I have a rather...noob question

I've always wanted to try starting a kingdom, but I don't want to get annihilated days after starting it.

My question is:

What can you do to prepare for starting one? I would imagine a denar stockpile would be good for getting peace secured or to get lords to join you. What are things that you did to prepare? Or things you wish you did beforehand?
