What the hell did they do to Fennagan?

Bro used to have 275 in every combat stat and now he has… 50 two handed? 120 athletics? He and Caladog were the gatekeepers of Battanian tournaments, now they’re just battanian recruits with fancy armor. Arwa gutted, Corein gutted, every tournament is weenie hut junior? What's going on with smelting daggers? Seems like you have to smelt a crapload of them to get all the blades

My blacksmith has Curious Smelter. I bought 35 pugios and smelted them and unlocked one grip and one hilt. I still have like 11 blades to unlock in daggers, not to mention all of the other parts. By my math I'm going to have to smelt at least 2000 pugios to unlock all the dagger parts. Does that sound right?
