Any way to assign only certain troop types to a formation?

Hi new player here, question in the title. Let's say I only want my Swordsmen in Formation 1, is there a way to do this with any granularity? I know there's the small icons which allow you to set "preferred types", but is there any way to do it with a bit of precision? Or a mod which allows this? Thanks in advance. Your Favourite City / Castle to Defend?

I, like many of you I'm sure, love siege defences. I do majority of my fighting in that setting. I'm going to make a save where I take only 1 city // castle, start a kingdom, and defend against all comers until the bitter end.

Functionality matters, but I'm most interested in the aesthetics/feel/design of it. What are your favourites, and why?
