Any way to assign only certain troop types to a formation?

Hi new player here, question in the title. Let's say I only want my Swordsmen in Formation 1, is there a way to do this with any granularity? I know there's the small icons which allow you to set "preferred types", but is there any way to do it with a bit of precision? Or a mod which allows this? Thanks in advance. Bannerlord Mod &/or File Modification for MLW

Not a whole lot to fit in the title, but I'm am desperately searching for someone to figure out how to allow My Little Warband troops to use custom blacksmith weapons. Oddly, troops are allowed to equip custom horses from the Horses mod, but custom weapons are nowhere to be found, even though they can be found in the cheat item catalogue. ANYTHING would be helpful.

Edit: I am using the latest version 1.2.9.
