Declared war on allied mercenaries on load save?

I’m playing as southern Empire, have the Hidden Hand as mercenaries with a couple of their parties in my army. I started a big battle late at night, so half way through quit to go to bed, knowing I’d saved right before the battle anyway like a good little save scummer. Now when I reload any of the precious 3 autosaves I immediately declare war on the Hidden Hand and their parties abandon my Army. Most disappointing thing about WS

They didn't change polearms on foot in any sort of way. Ai still prefer slashing weapons and spears are still pretty much useless. It is ridiculous to have a viking expansion without a proper spear and shield wall. I know RBM exists but I don't like what they did to throwing weapons and it shouldn't takes a mod to make a whole weapon category be viable.
