Declared war on allied mercenaries on load save?

I’m playing as southern Empire, have the Hidden Hand as mercenaries with a couple of their parties in my army. I started a big battle late at night, so half way through quit to go to bed, knowing I’d saved right before the battle anyway like a good little save scummer. Now when I reload any of the precious 3 autosaves I immediately declare war on the Hidden Hand and their parties abandon my Army. Weaken empire quest new clans

I just got on to the weaken empire quest and as I did 4 new imperial clans spawned in all with 1 member an supporting a different imperial faction except the northern empire which has 2. I was wondering if this has a in game reason to happening of if there’s any lore behind it? Also do new clans spawn for the other kingdoms if you support the empire instead?
