Declared war on allied mercenaries on load save?

I’m playing as southern Empire, have the Hidden Hand as mercenaries with a couple of their parties in my army. I started a big battle late at night, so half way through quit to go to bed, knowing I’d saved right before the battle anyway like a good little save scummer. Now when I reload any of the precious 3 autosaves I immediately declare war on the Hidden Hand and their parties abandon my Army. Do most of you still play on normal speed or the newer fast speed?

Personally I think “fast mode” should have just been half the normal time 6 days a month feels too fast I think even 12 would be fine but nonetheless I like it more than regular. With the war dials dlc I made a long campaign and now I’m seeing an issue with clans dying out as birth rate is not keeping up with age and it’s discouraging because I wanted my bloodline to go much further than I feel the world will allow it. So I’m wondering are most of you also using fast mode or just stick with normal default game speed?
