I'm sorry if this is asked a lot, it's really hard to find complete, up to date, clear information on this.
I've heard the main quest kind of blows and so I've stopped at the point where I have to talk to Istiana and Azargos and I've probably got around 1300 days left. I thought that limit was just for talking to these two but is the limit for the entire quest line?
I thought I'd make the choice whether to do the main quest later when I'm more established. I'm a vassal with 4 fiefs right now and I'm just starting to really get going and I'm not in a rush to conquer the entire continent right now although I might one day. So when is the best time to do the quest?
If I'm informed correctly if the quest times out nothing really happens, it's just gone. But can someone give a good summary of what happens when you trigger it? Is it true it makes getting your own kingdom easier? Can you become king of an existing kingdom easier? But also it makes the game hard because it forces perma-war?
So from what I've gathered you need to decide to make your own kingdom or give the banner to either the empire or a non empire faction.
And apparently the empires combine into one if you choose a non- empire faction. Do the barbarian kingdoms help you against the United empire? And do they also unite against you in the opposite case?
Then this triggers a bunch of obligatory time sensitive quests that fill a conspiracy meter.
And at some point either the empire or all non empire factions fight you and if you defeat them you get all their fiefs? Does that mean you personally or your kingdom and they're put to a vote?
I'd appreciate it if someone took the time to explain how this works in 2023.
