In Warband you would allocate troops to formations on your party screen. You could put individual troops in formation 1,2, 3 etc. In bannerlord it feels cumbersome having to do it in the battle deployment screen using the sliders. Is there a way to change this? submitted by /u/FingersToKeyboard [link] [comments]
So I love the game and haven't grown tired after several different play throughs but I have been dreaming about what I would like to see added to the battle fields and solders in the future and I'm interested to hear all of your thoughts as well:
- Field artillery- I think this could be interesting add to the game. Nothing crazy op but some mangonel, small ballista, maybe a trebuchet. These could be tier 7 troops, the upkeep should be wildly expensive to limit what a army can have, and it should add a massive speed penalty. But I think it could drastically change how battles are fought and could help with the pesky engineering/tactics perks.
- I'd love to see different categories of Calvary. I know we kind of have this with different kingdom types but I would like to see a true HEAVY calvary. Like Clydesdale style horses. They could be much slower and maneuver like a Zamboni but when they charge lands the damage would be significant.
- Unit specification- I love the updated bit where we can tell out units who too attack but I would like to expand on it a bit further with how they act on the battle field. What is the good of pikemen if you can't easily separate them from the other pole arm/two handed infantry? Staging your pikemen around your missile units with the command to defend would be perfect for warding off calvary charges.
- Interactive battle fields- I would like to start this point by stating I think the battlefield verity in the game is AMAZING and are all so very beautiful and unique. With that being said I think it would be awesome if they were adaptive. I picture the good old Battle Field 4 days as the maps slowly decayed as the battle wore on. Wouldn't it be awesome if the maps in the battles did the same? With the newly implimented weather aspects it should definitely play a role to the terrain as well as the nerfs it gives to troops. Imagine a heavy downpoor and as the 1000's of men and horse roll through the battle the terrain turns to mud virtually halting cav charges and sinking heavy strugia line breakers. Historically things like this played a major role in the outcome of wars, take The battle of Agincourt for example. Think about attacking a village and as you are in the middle the buildings are burning which lowers visability as well as causes damage if you stray into the flames. An ice storm for the battle in the north causes troops to fall as they traverse the mountains terrain.
Sorry for the novel I could ramble on and on but these are my favorite thoughts currently what do you guys hope to see one day?
