How to improve auto resolve outcomes?

I auto-resolve 90% of the fights I get into, what can I do for better results? Should I find 1-2 companions with high tactics skill and keep them in my party? Will that help? Do I have to assign them into any role? There is no slot for tactics role, is it enough if I just keep them in my party? As for sieges, should I keep a companion with high engineering skill and assign him in the engineering slot? I tried everything to fix this dunno what to do anymore. please help (modded bannerlord)

Ive lost all interest in vanilla so wanted to try 1259AD mod. cant get it to work. Game would open but when i start new game it crashes during loading. Error says in the picture.

Tried to reinstall mods. tried verifying game files. Tried isolating the mods and it seems to just crash with 1259mod. Is the mod just broken or am I missing something?
