STUCK AT BEGINING OF WARSAILS

I escorted the merchants and fought off two ships in a sea battle . I'm on the Scourge of the Seas quest. It tells me to talk to Gunnar via a golden exclamation point. I go to talk to him and he says thst he is waiting on new." What do I do now? It seems as though there are no obvious prompts and the quest still exists. I need help specifically with advancing this quest...I can't believe I am stuck this early in the game. If anyone has any advice, I'm really desperate. [POP] Imperator is dead. Empire destroyed. How do I leave?

I decided to join the Baccus empire when they were in pretty bad shape. Overall I’ve enjoyed the feeling of mounting multiple last stand defences etc.

Unfortunately the wind of time was against us and our last stronghold of Seven Cross Keep fell to the D’Shar.

I’ve decided that now is the time to leave the empire and move on to some new kingdom. But how do I actually do that? The imperator is dead and has no walled settlements to respawn in. Is there someone else I can talk to in order to renounce my oath?

Back when Bannerlord was announced, I vaguely remember that, in the announcement thread, people were discussing the choice of the title "Bannerlord." Does anyone else remember that?
