Your very first playthrough what faction did you join?

What new things have I missed?

I havent played since 1.2 was announced for beta and my ps4 is at 1.1.6 and I have no idea what new things are available to me. Are some mods available now? Tougher Ai? No fog of war? What new things can I expect to see?
