A poem from our Hero

I have a nice wife, a nice fief too, a castle on a hill with a magnificent view. I have fertile lands, and villages that thrive, hundreds of troops who somehow stay alive. My coffers are heavy, my warband is fed, my enemies see my banner and occasionally drop dead. I have horses and armor, silver and grain, a hall full of nobles complaining again. By every measure, I’ve won at this game. I’ve conquered, grown wealthy, and built up my name. Yet I stand on my battlements when the campaigning is done, watching the mountains fade with the sun. My wife is beside me. My kingdom is strong. My vaults overflow. But something feels wrong. I’ve everything a lord could possibly acquire… Maybe what’s missing another fief to desire. submitted by /u/t-o-m-u-s-a [link] [comments]

Vlandia is no more. Only Swadia remains. (Story in description!)

Did a story ran playthrough and was really fun! Centers around Mericor dey Corvand, a noble from House dey Corvand, originally descended from Osric Iron Arm as a “bastard son” familial line. However, Baldrim dey Corvand found out the true secret that the REAL bastard family line was none other than House dey Meroc, it turns out in order to succeed to the throne, Derthert’s grandfather killed Mericor’s great grandfather after Osric died in battle, he later swayed the scheme to say that Mericors great grandfather tried to attack him, so he acted in self defense. Anyways the family line stayed but was outcasted and their lands removed. Once Baldrim found out, he and his wife were killed by assassins. His dying words were to tell Mericor the tale and hand him Osric Iron Arms sword, Ironfang (it was hidden along with the information, Baldrim stole it from the coffers of Sargot to prove his claim.) Mericor was furious, depressed, and blood lusted. He later raised enough money from mercenary work to finally call out Derthert as the bastard he was, the war went on long but thankfully due to his charisma, money saved up from mercenary work, and perhaps his pure terror on the battlefield, he was able to unite Vlandia under a new name, Swadia. There he will rule until his dying days, Mericor will be known throughout Calradia, as the Crimson Blade (not only for the cool sounding name, but because of all the peasant blood that he spilled, along with Derthert’s)
