AWOIAF 1.3 AI gets stuck in castle siege/defense, any fix?

I've been playing awoiaf 1.3 for quite a bit this week and recently captured Casterly Rock (suck it Tywin). However, whenever I defend it the AI just gets stuck everywhere. There's a small stairway going backwards just after entering the gate, and it seems like a big part of the enemy army is stuck there all the time.

In addition to that, on start it spawns a couple of my archers & infantry away from my main army in the hallway, only to get overrun by the attackers.

I like the visual design of these castles, but they just don't work with the warband AI. Is there any fix/workaround to get these castles to work somewhat decently?
