How to improve auto resolve outcomes?

I auto-resolve 90% of the fights I get into, what can I do for better results? Should I find 1-2 companions with high tactics skill and keep them in my party? Will that help? Do I have to assign them into any role? There is no slot for tactics role, is it enough if I just keep them in my party? As for sieges, should I keep a companion with high engineering skill and assign him in the engineering slot? A feature I would love to see in Bannerlord

Something that I think Warband missed out on was war cries and the sounds of men in battle. In bannerlord I would love to see men shout the name of their king or faction as they charge towards victory or defeat. I want to hear men cry in pain and shout for their mothers as they die. I want to hear more realisitic sounds of men dying, of men killing, of men winning, and of men losing.
