Disappointed Diplomacy

Just got back into the game agter the war sails expansion. And I am disappointed at the shallow level of fiplomacy still in the game. So many aded features and yet they could not add a truce mechanic...or even a way to influence nobles to change policy. Furthermore the changes they made are banal and redundant.. Explain to me why my "ALLY" Just deckared war on me after i PAID them 500k money to attack another faction. Keep in mind this was with 72 days remaining on the alliance. [PENDOR] Should I join a KO before founding one?

This is my second play of Pendor and I'm playing as a Ravenstern merc at the moment and am just trying to gain relation and money before joining as a vassal. I currently have ~250K and want to wait until maybe 300 or 350K before joining up. Once I join, I want to create my own Stormborn knighthood order (GOT much?).

In the meantime, I'm wondering if it is worth joining another knighthood order. What are the costs and benefits? Which one should I join, if any? Kraken cult and Raven Spear look really cool and my relation isn't bad with them. I know Ebony Gauntlet is really good, but I've got a negative relation with them and I never see any of their parties anywhere, so I can't help them out at all.

Anyways, any help/advice on any aspect of Pendor is very welcome and much needed. Thank you!

Back when Bannerlord was announced, I vaguely remember that, in the announcement thread, people were discussing the choice of the title "Bannerlord." Does anyone else remember that?
