[POP] How do you convince a lord to defect?

Hello there sexy boys and macho girls. as the title said, how do you even do it? everytime i tried, he just won't defect. i have high right to rule (70+) and around 20 relation with said lord. is it because of the martial/upstanding/good heart traits?

i once convinced a sarranid sultanate lord to defect in native, but only once. it always failed since then
