i can't sue for peace while actively dying

im in 2 front war, all my vassals are captured, i have one castle left after vlandia cane with the 2000 men army and took my city , and i cant make peace even i i want to pay tribute. Don't get me wrong I am happy to keep kicking Dertherts ass, but it just seems odd. Is there some taleworlds math going on with how they weight raids?

EDIT:JHC I captured more of them and the price went uP!?!
