Is it just me or do all the names sound like they're from a random word generator?

This is something that kind of struck me as soon as I looked at the world map for the first time.

Jaculan, Saneopa, Caladog... does anyone else think the proper names in Mount and Blade sound really generic and random? Like they were decided by dice roll or throwing darts at syllables or something?

They're obviously not random because there are some traces of consistency, such as the use of the letter Q in Aserai city names or Battanian clans starting in "fen". Just a thought, not sure if that bothers anyone else.
