i can't sue for peace while actively dying

im in 2 front war, all my vassals are captured, i have one castle left after vlandia cane with the 2000 men army and took my city , and i cant make peace even i i want to pay tribute. Is it really not a good idea to allocate attribute points to vigor?

Heard somewhere that I should avoid putting points there as there are better places to put them, such as intelligence. Is this true?
