Married means nothing?

I'm about 460days in game I for first time created my new kingdom. To avoid war to swaide I married a count daughter. I'm friend of 3 counts and fairly good relation with the king.

After the marriage. About 10 days later they declared war to me.

Does married means nothing or I should not expect decent diplomacy out of Warband?
