And I love every improvement or changement so far. Well I am 1 hour into a new campaign but I liked th new stealth system and just looking at the encyclopedia relations seems a bit more complex. Loved also the new small things such as troops shouting down your orders. So far soon cool BUT There is one thing which really suck for me and that is the new light system. I really can't see shit in battles, unless with a sun shining at midday. Other than that impossible to fight in the shadows at dawn or even afternoon. And I can't tell if the ai is better or I simply suck. Please tell me there is a fix to this because battles are just becoming a frustrating nightmare... submitted by /u/Plopita [link] [comments]
Siege Defense; Why do my archers just stand in a square formation on top of the wall and do nothing?
So when I'm defending in a city vs a siege, I place my archers on the walls, like most people do I imagine. But only sometimes do they spread out and take individual defensive spots on the wall, and start shooting at enemies. And then sometimes they just stand there in a square formation and tend to not do anything, except maybe a lucky one or two of them who are in line of sight of an enemy.
Now I must have done about 30 siege defenses by now, so I'm not a total noob. I've pressed every single function F1-F9 button available but I cannot seem to control any formations when they are on walls.
So, please, what exactly is it that causes them to be smart archer like I sometimes see? And what makes them sometimes just stand there like dummies?
I've noticed that the commands are often VERY glitchy and sometimes they do different things when I give them different commands in a row, proving to me that it's sometimes glitchy (I hope that makes sense but if you understand you know its 100% a glitch)
I beg you, please spare me the comments like "I havent seen that glitch so you must be mistaken," I've seen others report the same thing
