Any way to assign only certain troop types to a formation?

Hi new player here, question in the title. Let's say I only want my Swordsmen in Formation 1, is there a way to do this with any granularity? I know there's the small icons which allow you to set "preferred types", but is there any way to do it with a bit of precision? Or a mod which allows this? Thanks in advance. Lance issues

Alright, so I’m on PS but I think I know how to lance. I’m wondering if anyone can help find out what’s stopping me from using the lance now… I’ve got a noble horse and lots of new armour that may have changed my character weight, not sure if either of those have an effect on the issue, and I have a braceable lance.
