Most polished complete overhaul mod?

What is the best way to get horsemen?

I've been getting into the og m&b story mode and I'm just wondering if there is a more efficient way to get mounted troops other than recruiting prisoners or happening upon them in a tavern. Also should mention I've never played the new m&b aside from its multi-player pvp so I don't know a lot about the game when it comes to story mode functions.
