Any way to assign only certain troop types to a formation?

Hi new player here, question in the title. Let's say I only want my Swordsmen in Formation 1, is there a way to do this with any granularity? I know there's the small icons which allow you to set "preferred types", but is there any way to do it with a bit of precision? Or a mod which allows this? Thanks in advance. Tips for Beginners?

I just picked up Bannerlord off a Steam sale, and I have around 10 hours in it just running around. I managed to level up to Clan Tier 1 and have around 6.5k denars, but I don't know how to progress. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Also, I can't seem to hit a lance charge, any tips?
