One thing I noticed when using kicks and shield bashes in the game, is that sometimes they visually connect with the enemy alright, and yet sometimes it doesn't register as a hit. This is despite my foot visibly literally going through the enemy model. Stuff like this contributes to making the game feel janky and incomplete. Hitboxes should be adjusted accordingly so that using these moves is actually intuitive and useful, instead of being a risky random chance of failing move.
Also, maybe this is just my subjective opinion, but troops and the player ought to be able to attack the enemy from behind the shoulders of friendly troops, through the gap between them. Maybe this would be a bit too OP or make battles even more chaotic, but when in packed foot slogs, as the AI prefers to do so, it's extremely irritating to launch attacks though the gap between my soldiers and have it stop short because my arm grazed theirs. Alternatively, they could just improve the AI of the troops, by making them maintain a bit more distance and act like they value space and their life more, like irl people. RBM does change the AI to be more like this, but vanilla ought to do an AI change as well, because the way infantry fight in this game makes infantry fights conclude way too quickly and renders a lot of tactics and movement meaningless. But it shouldn't be so slow as RBM, because not all players want ultra slow snail paced battles.
