Any way to assign only certain troop types to a formation?

Hi new player here, question in the title. Let's say I only want my Swordsmen in Formation 1, is there a way to do this with any granularity? I know there's the small icons which allow you to set "preferred types", but is there any way to do it with a bit of precision? Or a mod which allows this? Thanks in advance. Worst part of playing an infantry only character is enemy moral

Nothing worse than 30 looters charging you then 2 of them get killed and they all run away and since you don't have horse you just have to settle for only 2 kills unless your archers are lucky enough to get a couple more.

And even if you do have a horse it's still feels cheap because you can just run after them killing them and they don't do anything except run in a straight line.
