What should I do here?

I’m a vasal with the Khuzaits and I feel like the AI is not doing me any favors. We were at war with Sturgia and the Aserai at the same time which was a nightmare because everyone was running north and south. Not at war with Sturgia anymore but as soon as we made peace with them Monchug went and declared war with the western empire. I have 15 fiefs and they all border the western empire. So while every place I own is getting attacked Monchug and all the other assholes have been fighting over Shibal Zumr Castle. One side takes it and back and forth so most of the army is over there. And I’m in the same situation over at Onica castle. I own it but they take it and then I take it back. No one is getting anywhere. I want to go on the offensive and take Zeonica but I just don’t have enough people and I don’t think I can get anymore. Any tips for this stalemate? And where do all their troops keep coming from? Late To The Party - Many Questions

I finally have some spare time & plan on starting a sandbox game of Bannerlord. I previously played Mount & Blade Warband which I really enjoyed. I've watched many new beginner videos/guides but many of them seem to be out of date, not on the current patch or contradict one another. Here are some of the questions I have:

  1. What core skills are a must have? Everyone seems to suggest 1 point in medicine for the +30% health regen after battle. Are there any others like that?

  2. I want to play a fast heavy hitting character in melee. Is Agility worth investing into? Most recent guides say agility was nerfed & even with light armor, max agility you can barely catch up to retreating foes on foot.

  3. What skills should I not put points into?

  4. I plan to command a small but elite army. Kind of like Achilles Myrmidon. Any army/unit fit the bill for that role?

Back when Bannerlord was announced, I vaguely remember that, in the announcement thread, people were discussing the choice of the title "Bannerlord." Does anyone else remember that?
