Declared war on allied mercenaries on load save?

I’m playing as southern Empire, have the Hidden Hand as mercenaries with a couple of their parties in my army. I started a big battle late at night, so half way through quit to go to bed, knowing I’d saved right before the battle anyway like a good little save scummer. Now when I reload any of the precious 3 autosaves I immediately declare war on the Hidden Hand and their parties abandon my Army. Changes.

Changes.

Havent played the game for a few years (Played a lot in Early access phase) , and to be honest im almost more exited about the new features and balance changes that will happen with the DLC itself than the ship warfare.

From my understanding there wasnt that much changes since the launch and now they are taking the opportunity to add them (Stealth system, better diplomacy ....)

What were the most significant changes for the past 3 years in your opinion?

I would like to play 1 run Vanilla and then add some mods once they are updated.
