Make the siege towers taller and put archers on top, so they can shoot inside the walls. Also fix all catapult positions where the enemy AI archers can't shoot you. In case you didn't know, the best strategy for defending your castle/town from a siege is to abandon the walls completely and just put your troops in the courtyard. Put your archers in a line, in a position where they can see the top of the wall, any enemy that climbs the wall is instantly showered with arrows. Sometimes the enemy will form a shield wall, bait them with a small unit of melee troops, they will turn to face them and get shot in the back. You can win battles that have you outnumbered 10 to 1 with this tactic, which is obviously unrealistic as losing the wall historically meant the siege was lost. [link] [comments] |
I love PoP and think it's the best thing since Sliced Person, but the early game is bloody brutal, especially if you're used to kicking ass and taking names in M&B vanilla. My advice is to answer these however you like, building the backstory for your character that interests you and helps get you into the story.
