Declared war on allied mercenaries on load save?

I’m playing as southern Empire, have the Hidden Hand as mercenaries with a couple of their parties in my army. I started a big battle late at night, so half way through quit to go to bed, knowing I’d saved right before the battle anyway like a good little save scummer. Now when I reload any of the precious 3 autosaves I immediately declare war on the Hidden Hand and their parties abandon my Army. Khuzati up

I just witnessed some terrifying stuff, a 500 member Khuzati army was besieging a castle with 250 troops, but before the siege started they were attacked by an imperial(southern) army of 850 troops, the Khuzati still won against the army remaining with 200 troops, and with these 200 they stormed the castle with 250 and took it, this thing made me so crazy that I canceled my imperial run to start a khuzato one.
