Declared war on allied mercenaries on load save?

I’m playing as southern Empire, have the Hidden Hand as mercenaries with a couple of their parties in my army. I started a big battle late at night, so half way through quit to go to bed, knowing I’d saved right before the battle anyway like a good little save scummer. Now when I reload any of the precious 3 autosaves I immediately declare war on the Hidden Hand and their parties abandon my Army. Kingdom help

For context I’m on console so no mods available. This is my first real playthrough where I start and follow through with my own kingdom and I’ve actually had the interest to see it through. I’ve recruited multiple vassals from the empire, sturgia and Vlandia but anytime an army that isn’t mine start up and either go on the offensive or defensive they get completely stomped. What can I do to try and beef them up as they’re all clan tier 4-6 and I’ve given them each over 1k influence. It seems the only army able to get anything done is my own
