Declared war on allied mercenaries on load save?

I’m playing as southern Empire, have the Hidden Hand as mercenaries with a couple of their parties in my army. I started a big battle late at night, so half way through quit to go to bed, knowing I’d saved right before the battle anyway like a good little save scummer. Now when I reload any of the precious 3 autosaves I immediately declare war on the Hidden Hand and their parties abandon my Army. I need help starting my empire.

So I watched a bunch of YouTube vids and such, but no one really makes sense. Can anyone help me figure out a checklist to do before I try to attack a faction as an independent? I am playing as a female character, kitted and spec'd for combat. I have a max party limit of 79 troops, manny of which are Merc Calvary and other mounted forces. I use a 2handed sword with a shield in my back. Oh, and I have a number of investments in other faction cities. Nords are my target as they are getting their collective butts kicked. Tihr and Wercheg are the only cities they have and Wercheg is my target city. Advice?
